Crossroads

The book of Proverbs offers us two paths…

The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,
which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

The way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know over what they stumble.

(Proverbs 4:18-19)

Dawn Street

As I sit in my room this morning the sunlight is spilling into my room, and I can’t help but grin like an idiot. Sunlight has that effect! Even more so if you happen to have battled through torrential rain in the dark the night before, which is what happened to me yesterday.

The picture painted in Proverbs 4 is one where the traveller can see the path and therefore doesn’t stumble, but I think there is this morning’s kind of sunshiny joy in the imagery too. This is what the path of the righteous is like, and I want that!
